If there’s one skill that I wish I could obtain, it would be multitasking.
Wait, is multitasking a “skill” or more of a “trait”? I mean, is it truly a skill that can be learned or taught, or is it an innate trait that one tends to be good at or not?

Multitasking Deficiency
August 20, 2009It’s All A Matter Of Context
August 19, 2009Remember my little project of going through old American Cinematographers and getting rid of them?
First, let me just say how fun it is to dump a two-foot tall stack of magazines. I mean, really, a whole bookshelf completely cleared (and ready for new books, natch) is just cool.
Summer Cleaning
July 14, 2009Occasionally one looks at one’s bookshelves and thinks “Hm, do I really need to be keeping that any more?”
Well, maybe not so much with books. Heck, someday I would love to have a small house, with a really BIG library. So there’s not many books I want to get rid of, naturally.
But magazines? Especially old [...]
Friday Sillyness: Cartoon Style
June 4, 2009I went out tonight, pretty much on a spur-of-the-moment whim, to see “UP” tonight. Needless to say that I enjoyed it, given the time and effort that Pixar clearly puts into each film they make. Seeing it in 3-d was a nice touch, though the film works just as well without the added “gimmick”, if [...]
Geeky On Multiple Levels
May 12, 2009Last weekend I hit a couple of levels of geekdom on the same day.
Saturday I headed up with a friend to the Reagan Library up in Simi Valley. No, not because I’ve decided to give up my liberal ways and become all things Republican, but because they had a special exhibit going on that I [...]
X-Philes and The Creeps
July 30, 2008What’s creepy?
No, not the earthquake yesterday. That has its own creep factor. Namely the part where the world starts shaking. It’s not like it is on TV, either: no running and screaming, no “rumble, rumble, rumble” noise, no dramatic music.
Thoughts On John Adams
July 7, 2008Mention the topic of “history” to a lot of people, and you’ll immediately watch their eyes glaze over or roll into the back of their heads. Memories, no matter how distant, of boring lectures and the memorization of rote facts (the ‘ol names, dates and places) will cross their face. Probably mixed with [...]
Not What I’d Expected
July 6, 2008Sometimes, despite one’s best efforts, plans go awry. Things don’t turn out quite as you’d expected or hoped they would. Things that you thought were going to be good turned out to be not so much so.
That is to say: sometimes three-day-weekends turn out to be total busts.
Friday Sillyness
June 5, 2008Ever seen an ad on TV that starred an actor that you knew? Sort of. Like, you know the face, but darn it, you just can’t place him.
And every time that darn ad comes on, you stare at it intently, looking at the actor’s face. You’re sure you’ve seen that guy before. [...]
Jones!
May 22, 2008(What, you haven’t read the other new post below? No, no go read that first. Then come back here. Oh, and this was written at 2:39 AM, so go easy on me, ‘k?)
